Learning and Engagement Volunteer (Activity Assistant Volunteers - Art in the Open 2023)

The Learning and Engagement Department of the National Galleries of Scotland involves volunteers to help support events across all three sites of the Galleries including activities for adults, children & families, schools, and community groups (including D/deaf and hard of hearing audiences, those with visual impairments and those affected by dementia).
We are looking for Activity Assistant Volunteers to help deliver the Art in the Open | National Galleries of Scotland
Art in the Open is an outdoor pop-up drawing studio which has been running across Edinburgh since 2019. The sessions are run by a freelance artist, with support from volunteers and NGS Learning & Engagement staff.
As an Activity Assistant volunteer, you will help deliver all aspects of this activity including set up and break down around the activity.
What you will be doing

Chatting with members of the public and inviting them to participate

Assist the artist with the set up and handing out the materials such as paper and charcoal.

Tidy up the materials and help pack up the cargo bike used at these workshops at the end of the session.

Tell members of the public and participants about the NGS programmes.

Times will be 1-3pm for these afternoon sessions:
